Below are some examples of a few common tree disorders. Most are contagious to other trees and are incurable, except in rare cases. If you notice any of these symptoms occurring on your trees, immediate action is recommended. Remember, a sick tree can go on to infect whole neighbourhoods! Every tree surviving in the urban environment is precious to us. A bit of awareness and responsibility on the owners part can go a long way towards preserving our urban treasures.

Eutypella Canker

Found on Maple and Poplar, this airborne fungus spreads quickly through tree stands.

Dutch Elm Disease

A very common and devastating fungal infection specific to Elm. Transmitted by tiny bark beetles moving from Tree to Tree.
